Castle Finance Direct Loans
About:
Castle Finance Direct Ltd was incorporated in 2003 and later in 2004 followed www.castlefinancedirect.co.uk. This experienced loan broker has traded through a few other trading brands over the years, but these have all closed with full focus shifting to this central company. Castle’s web popularity is high, but a lot of this stems from their controversial broker fee charged at £79. This isn’t clearly made visible on the site. Applicants are made aware of it at the point of being accepted by their own department. This is however no guarantee of acceptance from a lender. Some applicants proceed believing that they have qualified for a sizeable personal loan that can cover this charge, yet they haven’t.

This seems to be the general consensus from glancing through the feedback left at the Review Centre. The Castle Finance Direct loans are pitched with sizeable amounts of £300 up to £15,000. The headed repayment range is 12 to 60 months. Such headlines as “Been Blacklisted”, “CCJs, Defaults” etc are used to entice applicants to proceed. A headed APR range below is listed as 20% to 70%. Whilst we are familiar with subprime lenders that charge close to 50% APR, there would be no chance of qualifying close to 20% with poor credit. When heading on to the site you’ll see that this isn’t very informational with the lead form filling up much of the homepage.

There are a few buttons in the bottom menu bar, but the about us and FAQ pages don’t explore much about the service. No information is for instance shared on the lending partners used or their opening hours. In regards to the administration fee, this is briefly noted at the bottom of the site within their representative example. Other than this you’ll need to head into terms & conditions. Towards the end of the page there is a refund procedure notice that is stated that you must make a request by email. They’ll then aim to deal with this within a 28 day period. Under what specific circumstances would they go on to make a refund is unclear.
